There’s loads to do in the wee snug, with a pool table that converts to air hockey and ping pong, plus darts, an Alexa and extra games in the drawers. We booked it for my partner’s 30th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. It was really clean and stocked with so many essentials that we didn’t need to bring anything. The owner and family were friendly and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Definitely worth the money and the six-hour drive. We’ll be back.

The local Chinese was superb, with really friendly staff. The Kinker store was a bit pricey, so I’d go to Aboyne for what you need. We stayed in the Wee Snug for two nights and had great communication with the owners, plus an early check-in as a bonus. Getting the keys from the lock box was easy, and inside it was clean, well equipped and full of quirky touches that gave it a bar feel. The pool table turned into air hockey or table tennis, and there were games in a drawer, a dart board and even an Alexa. You could pull the TV out to watch from bed. Nothing bad to say about the stay. We’ll return and try the Royal snug next time.

The gardens and location were sublime, and the snug was far better than we expected. Key collection was clear and straightforward, and the service was friendly from beginning to end. I nearly didn’t leave a review because I didn’t want to give away such a lovely spot before I could book it again. All the best to Billy and the staff, I’ll definitely be rebooking as soon as I can.

A comfortable bed, a powerful shower, everything we needed for a bite to eat, and blankets for cosy sofa time. We spent a few nights here the week before our wedding, and it was just right for evenings in front of the telly and watching birds from bed. We spotted everything from robins to falcons in the private garden. It’s locally owned and looked after. We’ll be taking over the snugs with the rest of the family soon. Highly recommended.

The apartment was lovely and made for a relaxing couple of days. There isn’t much nearby, just one shop and a Chinese. It would’ve been nice to have a small hamper, or even some milk waiting for us, since the shop was closed when we arrived. After a couple of hours driving, a cuppa and biscuit would’ve hit the spot.
