The location made it easy to get to lots of great sights, and Stirling Castle is well worth seeing. Cathy and her sweet husband, Sandy, welcomed us warmly from the beginning and made us feel like family. The room was comfortable and clean, and Cathy cooked breakfast to order. A lovely place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and worked well for our three-night visit from Canada. We were four people in two rooms, and did wish there were a shared lounge where we could all spend time together, since the rooms were too small for that. It was a minor disappointment, not a major problem. The Railway pub next door was a friendly place to meet in the evenings instead. Kathy and Sandy were wonderful hosts, always ready to help, and their tips on what to see and where to go were invaluable. We enjoyed our stay, appreciated their service, and had a generous cooked breakfast each morning with cereal and yogurt. Good value, and I’m happy to recommend Shawlee Cottage Bed and Breakfast.

Kathy and Sandy were so kind that the place felt like a home while I was travelling, rather than just a guest house. They also gave me helpful suggestions for seeing this part of Scotland. I was lucky to find the B&B on Maps. The house has a lovely atmosphere, and I liked the room, garden, and breakfast. It’s well placed for getting around, about 15 minutes from Glasgow, 30 from Stirling, and 35 from Edinburgh. Thanks again for everything.

We spent three nights here and plan to come back. Sandy and Cathy made us feel very welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was clean and nicely presented, with tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Breakfast was superb, with cereal, toast, jams and marmalade, a full cooked Scottish breakfast, or the simpler option of boiled or poached eggs.

We had three rooms for four nights with friends. Cathy and Sandy were friendly and gave us useful tips, including places to visit and eat. The cottage is in a good location and has private parking round the back. We got a warm welcome, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and freshly cooked, delicious breakfasts. Lovely place and people, highly recommend!
