Rod was the warmest part of the stay. He made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and was so welcoming and helpful. You can tell he puts a lot of heart into the B&B. The room was spacious, spotless and wonderfully cosy, just the place to relax after a day out in the Lakes. We had everything we needed, and breakfast was a highlight each morning, freshly made and delicious, with hearty full English and lighter continental choices. The location is right in the heart of Ambleside, with convenient parking close by. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting.

The B&B is right in the centre, with shops, restaurants and other local amenities only a short walk away. We parked overnight on Church Street when we arrived in the dark, then used the pass at the Football Club during our stay. It was only a short walk from there. Our family room with ensuite worked well for us and our youngest son. It and the rest of the B&B were clean and tidy. Breakfast had a good choice, was made to order, and could be served at different times. Special requests were possible too, which suited us. Rod and Kate were both friendly, helpful and keen to make sure we had what we needed. We enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back, and recommend it to friends and family.

The room was small, but had all the essentials: a super comfortable bed, great shower pressure and a handy hairdryer. My partner and I stayed in the cosy room at 2 Cambridge Villas, and had a wonderful time. Rod was a really friendly host who knew the local area well, including which hikes were worthwhile. I’d highly recommend this charming B&B for its welcoming host, delicious breakfast and picturesque village right on the doorstep.

Rod was lovely to talk to, and his hospitality really shines. His scrambled eggs were delicious. He made sure we had what we needed at check-in and during breakfast, then saw us off at checkout. This quaint little B&B was amazing, and the location was perfect.

We’ve stayed at Kate and Mark’s B&B several times, and it’s become our home whenever we spend a few days in the Lake District. Breakfast is always freshly prepared by Kate, and they’re both experienced walkers with loads of hiking information to share. The house is lovely, the rooms are clean and well appointed, and the beds are so comfortable. It’s just perfect. I’d recommend it to anyone.
