The Corner House Hotel

The staff are lovely and the service is great. The food is really good, and the coffee’s excellent too. Always good quality and value for money. A little gem. I’ll definitely be back.

The coffee was the best I’ve been served in a long time, and it came in a pot that kept it hot until I was ready to pour. The menu has a decent variety of hot and cold food and drinks, plus light bites and meals for children, at competitive prices. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. I stopped by Corner House hotel for a meal and a hot drink, not to stay, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The place looks old in its decor, but I found it delightful, comfortable and homely, with a relaxed, cosy feel. It was clean and airy. I’d happily recommend a visit and will return when I’m next in the area.

Breakfast was the highlight: generous portions, piping hot and absolutely delicious. The Lorne sausage was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel is also conveniently close to the M74, which suited my business travel around North West England and Scotland. I stayed one night for work. The room was large but very basic, and the bathroom facilities weren’t the best, though everything was clean and tidy. The Wi-Fi was very poor, which made working frustrating. There’s no dinner served, so we had to eat elsewhere.

We held our wedding reception here recently and couldn’t be happier with how everything went. The staff and service went above and beyond, and the room was lovely and really affordable. Highly recommend.
