We got the £49 deal. The bed was comfortable, the food was lovely and the staff were nice, especially in the bar. The location is great, but the hotel is a bit run down, and it looked like work was underway: there were paintbrushes and other stuff on the landing on the way to our room. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything. Our side view looked onto a really grubby, messy building that might have been where staff live. It was odd that, after the bar closed, it opened again for a group of young lads who'd been in earlier. I'd go back for another cheap deal.

We had a view of the loch and cobler, and waking up to it was a sight. Room 57 was good, with a decent sized TV and good tea supplies. The bed was okay, though the curtains need replacing. Like at every hotel I've stayed in, the quilt is always too thin, but that's just me, lol. It's a bit dated and needs money spent to bring it up to a good standard. Housekeeping was on the ball: we arrived Sunday afternoon and our towels were replaced on Monday. They serve both British and Indian food, and the Indian dishes are authentic and very, very good. Remember it's a 3 star hotel, so I think they're doing well. Would I come back? Yes.

We almost cancelled after reading the negative feedback, but I'm glad we decided to see for ourselves. Our room was clean, as was the hotel, and we didn't notice any bad smells. We arrived early, and the staff offered us the room straight away because my son needed the toilet, even though we hadn't asked. We had lunch there before our dinner booking. We ordered just mac and cheese and chicken pakora to share between three of us, and my son loved the mac and cheese and asked for more. The evening entertainment was good, with a live singer who took requests. Breakfast the next morning was hot and freshly made, served to us rather than set out as a help yourself buffet. We had a great stay on Boxing Day and can't wait to come back.

The room was 401, and it was incredibly cozy, spotless and stylish, with attention to detail you could see. It felt more like home than a hotel, with even better service. The setting is stunning for taking in the Scottish scenery, and the atmosphere inside made the stay special. From the moment I arrived, the experience was flawless. I honestly can't recommend Loch long hotel enough. I enjoyed every minute and can't wait to return. One of the must visit places in whole UK 💯

The staff were pleasant and clearly doing their best, and I can't fault them. The hotel itself, though, is in serious disrepair. The rooms, carpets, lift and even the toilet door lock all need attention. The catch on our door was fitted backwards, so it wouldn't lock and opened with a push. When we arrived at reception, buckets were set out to catch water dripping from the ceiling. Staffing was extremely thin. At one point there were two staff members, then just one person working as receptionist, bartender, waiter and chef. The food was poor, and our room was freezing. We asked for a heater and got one, but its humming kept me awake all night. The staff seemed to be working in difficult circumstances, but that doesn't make up for the state of the building, which clearly needs a full refurbishment. After travelling all day, it was a very disappointing stay. I'd give the hotel two stars at best, purely for the staff, and we wouldn't stay again.
