Our dog gets treated like a proper guest here, which means a lot to us. The staff make all of us feel welcome from the minute we arrive, and they’re always ready with help, recommendations, extra amenities, or a chat at the bar. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and carefully prepared, with little touches that make it easy to relax. We leave feeling refreshed and already keen to come back. From Adam Gina & Terry 🐶

I pass this place every day on my bus route and had heard good things, so I was curious to try it. Tonight was my first visit, and the food really was amazing: generous portions, hot and fresh from the oven. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the service made for a brilliant evening. Thanks so much, I can’t wait to come back.

The menu has something for everyone, and the food was delicious. We came for a friend’s birthday meal, and they had some very specific requirements. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and went out of their way to make the occasion special.

That sticky toffee pudding was fabulous. I had the chicken, leek and ham pie, served hot in its own dish, with a tasty filling and a good portion. The turkey Sunday roast was amazing too, with thick slices of meat, great roast potatoes and veg. I’ve tried most of the barons pubs, and this one has the best food by far. Great work by the chefs and service team.

We were in the scullery area with our family of four. The food and drinks were perfect, and the staff were friendly, but a large family nearby spread out across the area as other tables became free. Kids were playing games on their phones at full volume, so we could barely hear one another. It felt like a children’s party at McDonald’s with an arcade, and it ruined our meal. Neither the parents nor staff seemed to mind the group taking over the area. We’d never had a problem here before, but at the time this put us off returning. Since then, the manager sent a very kind email explaining the situation. I’m satisfied with the response and will certainly come back. As I said, we’d never had an issue before, so I’m sure this was just one bad experience.
