We booked the Ortega room for a night and were surprised by how good the value was. It was spacious and luxurious, with vineyard views, a log burner, a huge comfortable bed, a gorgeous freestanding gold bath, and Bramley and Pelegrims products. The pub itself is lovely, with amazing food and super friendly, attentive staff. We really enjoyed supper, though book a table because it gets busy. Can’t wait to stay again.

We came back to Five Bells four years after a weekend visit, this time as a surprise so I could propose to my partner. The staff made the occasion even more special. They arranged a glass of bubbles for our arrival, the food was amazing, and they took 10% off our bill. Even a local regular gave us £20. Honestly, thanks to you all.

The setting was perfect for a quiet, cosy stay, and it didn’t feel like we were only 20 minutes from home. We booked the Bacchus room, which was comfortable and felt special with the wood fire and freestanding bath. The bed creaked terribly even when I just sat down, and woke me a few times. The step by the bath was hard to see at night, and I stubbed my toe several times. The restaurant had a warm atmosphere and friendly staff, and the food was amazing. There were lots of vegan choices, not just a boring burger. Breakfast came with the room and was honestly one of the best we’ve had in ages. I’d definitely recommend staying here or popping in for dinner.

Five stars at the five bells! I popped in to relax and found all the staff friendly and hospitable. Special mention to Irena, an amazing host who always greets you with a big smile and goes out of her way to make you comfortable.
