Atherstone Red Lion

The room was clean, warm and very nice, and the food was very nice too. Friendly staff and plenty of history made for a great stay. One thought, a mini fridge in the room could be useful for milk and other perishables.

The food was very good, and the staff were courteous, sympathetic and professional throughout. A big thank you to the manager and team at The Red Lion for looking after Mom’s wake, from our first tentative enquiry to the attentive but unobtrusive service on the day.

We enjoyed our meal with friends at the Red Lion in Atherstone so much last weekend that we came back for breakfast today. My pregnant wife ordered two English breakfasts and asked for a fruit bowl for extra nutrition, but we were told none were available. After we’d paid and sat down, Natalia brought over two pieces of fruit, saying, “I know it’s not a fruit bowl, but here you go.” She also brought a bowl of water for our dog. That thoughtful attention really stood out, and the whole experience was wonderful. The service was exceptional, and we couldn’t recommend the place more.

We had more people come to my late mother’s wake than expected, so we needed extra cups and plates. The staff took it all in stride and made everything stress-free. There was plenty of tea and coffee, and the food was exceptional. I’m very grateful to everyone at the Red Lion for their wonderful service.
