The food here was unlike anything I’d had at a pub before. Our lamb pie with Arabic seasoning worked really well, and the pastry had a lovely texture, somewhere between short crust and puff. The pheasant was cooked perfectly, and we had no trouble finishing it. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and the tables were nicely set out. The poached egg and avocado toast hit the spot, while the full English was just the right size. Hannah and Katie made our stay a delight, and the whole team was very accommodating. The Five Arrows has some of the best staff I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. The rooms were very clean, the beds luxurious, and the bath was big. The bathroom floor was heated too. I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s worth the money!

Adam’s and the team took such good care of us, and the food and service were superb. This was a beautiful venue for a funeral reception, and their care made saying our final farewell to Mother so much easier. Thank you.

I was glad to see black pudding among the good breakfast options. The hotel is nice and set in a picturesque spot. It would have helped to know dinner at the onsite restaurant needed to be booked in advance, but there are plenty of nearby pubs serving great food.

Our room was very nice and comfortable, with everything we needed. Having manor tickets included in the night rate was good value, and it’s a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the manor entrance. During our stay, the hotel had problems with power cuts and water availability. Reception wasn’t always staffed, so we only got our room key earlier in the day and were told the room would be ready when we returned from Waddesdon Manor. We didn’t get the proper check-in we expected, and checkout the next morning was similar. The booking email also gave misleading information about Sunday evening dining. The Five Arrows restaurant was closed for food, and although the email suggested its sister venue across the road would be open, it wasn’t.

Adam and the team made Saturday night a wonderful evening. We had an amazing meal at The Five Arrows for my mum’s 80th birthday. Highly recommend!
