Breakfast and the packed lunch were excellent, though the evening meals were only average. Some staff seemed to be covering a bit of everything. The rooms were comfortable enough for three nights, but the bed was very soft. The younger staff need more direction. There was too much messing around in front of guests in the evenings, which came across as unprofessional. If you need an Uber and aren't driving, book ahead. Taxi drivers can be reluctant to come out beyond the busy areas. For airport taxis, J.O taxis are nearby and had great rates and service.

We picked this hotel because dogs are welcome, and it worked really well for our dog. Getting outside for toilet breaks was easy, and the staff were lovely and went out of their way to help us. Our room stayed quiet even on the evening there was loud music and dancing for an event. The decor and room felt a bit dated, but everything was clean and comfortable and suited our needs. Breakfast had a good range of cooked and continental choices, and the bread was tasty and sliced, not the cheap stuff. We also had a tasty dinner, with a good variety on the menu and quick service. The portions were somewhat generous. We stayed for two nights and would definitely come back.

After walking 15.5 miles of the Cotswold Way, we got a really friendly welcome from the reception staff when we arrived and checked in. Charlotte deserves a shout out for bringing our courier-delivered luggage up to our room. We appreciated that proper help. Dinner was lovely, and the service was excellent, with our waitress being very attentive. The room was clean and very comfortable too. Thanks to everyone for a pleasant one-night stay.

The countryside setting was a good fit, while still making it easy to visit us in Yate. My older relatives stayed recently and found the place very comfortable, with good service. They thought the food was average.

We had a family get-together at the Compass after a funeral, and it was excellent. The hot and buffet food made a good mix. Thanks to everyone for the careful attention to detail and the discreet, secure support.
