Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa

The spa was a real highlight, completely out of this world, and it set us up perfectly for an evening of fine dining and drinks. Our room was spotless and quiet, with a wonderful bed and all the little details thought through. It was easy to properly switch off there, and the facilities were clean, well kept, and enjoyable at our own pace. From the smooth check-in onward, the staff were warm and attentive without hovering. Everything felt relaxed and well organised, and they made us feel at home straight away. We had a lovely experience from start to finish and left refreshed, already looking forward to coming back. This fabulous hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’d recommend it to anyone after a special, stress-free stay.

The peaceful grounds have so many lovely tucked-away spots, indoors and out, and the dog had a great time sprinting around the landscape. We stayed for two nights between Xmas and NY in a dog-friendly suite, which was amazing. The staff were so lovely, the service was incredible, and the food was amazing too. We ate in both the restaurant and Michelin star and were impressed with the food in each. Such a magical place, definitely a five-star venue. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff are what make Pennyhill Park such a delight for me, especially the friendly team at reception. When I dropped off a cake for an event, they asked when it should be brought out and how many plates we’d need, then promptly put it in the fridge. At other places, there might have been a fuss about cake charges or knife safety. Finding your room can be confusing. Room names may have some logic, but it isn’t obvious, and I’ve seen people wandering around with their bags trying to locate theirs. Pay attention when reception points out where your room is and make sure you’ve got it right, or you might end up searching a quad for a room named after an obscure British location. Numbered rooms might be simpler, though names do sound classier. There’s plenty here for travellers and spa visitors, including an extensive spa and gym worth visiting. The spa areas make a welcome retreat, although the outdoor pool can be a mixed experience in British weather. Food is always great, with healthy breakfast options and quickly served dinners made with quality produce. Staff are friendly and attentive throughout. Pennyhill Park is famous for rugby players and is one of my favourite hotels in the area.

The rose steam room was our favourite, though there are lots of spa facilities to try. We only stayed one night, in Goodwood, and the room exceeded expectations, it was stunning. Josh during the evening, Barris at dinner, and Arethra at check-out were all so lovely and made the experience great. Everything was outstanding, and the gorgeous beef wellington topped it all off.
