Slemish Barn

We stayed for 8 days, and every day was special. Slemish Barn is such a peaceful place near the village, with an amazing host who makes it a hidden gem. I saw her making sure every guest felt welcome, staying up until they arrived, keeping in touch about their travel and getting them settled. It’s 5 star. The rooms are amazing, and the kitchen has everything you need, including fresh Bread, tea, coffee and milk. The lounge feels like home. It let us all share an amazing time at the Open and meet fellow Golfers who were staying there.

Meabh made the trip run smoothly from the start, even giving the coaches a lift to Tesco for supplies. She also put us in touch with Ceclia, whose generous, delicious meals kept 23 very hungry football players happy. We were staying at Slemish Barn with the Hertfordshire u15 Feile team, 23 players and 7 adults, and the place worked brilliantly for a group. There was plenty of room indoors and out to relax, plus comfy leather chairs, couches, board games, books and a huge log burner for sitting beside after a day out. We had no trouble getting enough hot water for 30 people to have two showers a day. The fields are all around, and there's a local pub within walking distance that serves food. Communication before and during the stay was excellent. We'd happily recommend it to groups, and we've booked again for next year's Feile.

The owner's hospitality makes this a really warm, welcoming place. A lovely spot if you're hoping to get away from the stress of city life and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Easygoing place for a big group, with the basics well equipped. Worked perfectly for us.
