The Deddington Arms has a lot of character and a welcoming feel. We started with the mixed breads, which were fresh and enjoyable, and it initially seemed ideal for a relaxed meal. But the main course was a letdown. We waited around 45 minutes, then the food arrived cold and didn't justify the wait. Other tables were delayed as well, so service seemed to be a broader problem that day. I try to support local businesses, but after this experience I won't be back.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. The room was warm and the bed very comfortable, though parts of it looked a bit tatty. The place seems to have had a bit of a revamp, but the price for one night felt high. In the bathroom, there was a shower curtain in the bath that stuck to you, and the fixed shower head was annoying for someone around 5'11".

The food was fantastic, and the staff were cheerful, friendly and attentive. They were short staffed, but still nothing felt like too much trouble.

We had a family dinner last night and the food was amazing, definitely Michelin star quality. Service was quick and really friendly, and we had a lovely time. Hope we can come back one day.

My wife and I get away two or three times a year, and we both agreed this was the best place we've stayed. The food was excellent, the room superb, and it was a lovely quiet location with such friendly, accommodating staff. When we found out the travel operator had made a mistake with our booking, they put it right immediately and without any fuss. We'd definitely recommend it.
