The Sun Inn

It was nice to see locals making good use of the pub on a Monday night. On my first visit, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food came quickly in hearty portions. Room 7 was spacious, clean and lovely, with very soft sheets. A few things need attention, including the shower head and marks on the wall from old fittings, so that's why I'd give it four stars. I was up early for work, and the self-service cold buffet made breakfast easy. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We visited for a friend's birthday, and one of our party used a wheelchair. The staff did everything they could to accommodate us. The food was superb and the service first class, with lovely, friendly staff. It was great to see a busy village pub that locals use. We'll definitely return. Thank you.

We'd booked dinner, which was just as well because the inn was packed. We both had the short rib beef, which was delicious, and the servers were lovely. They also had fantastic Naptons cider on draft. The manager gave us a friendly welcome, explained everything and showed us to our room. The twin room was perfect for our one-night stop on a long walk, with good tea facilities, great homemade biscuits, a large shower and quality toiletries. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and we slept very well. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am, but they kindly let us preorder so it was ready when we came down. The full English was excellent. A perfect stay at a lovely inn!

The rooms were satisfactory, but breakfast arrangements let us down. We were told cooked breakfast wouldn't be available until 0900, which was too late since we were there for a business meeting at 0900. At first, the staff member offered no workaround, then said food would be laid out before 0900. It wasn't. The cleaner came and sorted it out for us. Parking was limited too, and I had to drive around until I eventually found a space.
