The food was a highlight of the event, and everything was clean, organised and easy to find, so the evening went smoothly. Sarah at the bar was cheerful and welcoming even while busy, and kept up lively conversation while making sure everyone was served with real enthusiasm. I had a great experience and would happily come back and stay overnight.

The spa in the basement is fabulous, and the location is ideal for exploring Bath. There’s also a large Sainsbury nearby, along with cafés, bars, restaurants and a small market. Breakfast was excellent: hot dishes came to the table, and the buffet had a very good choice of fruit, cheese, yogurts, juices and cold meats. The bed was lovely and firm, and the toiletries were very good. The staff were cheerful and provided excellent service. The rooms are comfortable, but the lack of hooks was a real nuisance. Our coats were soaked, and there was nowhere to hang them: the towel rail had no protruding edges, and the wardrobe was too small for a winter coat. There were no hooks for a swimsuit in the bathroom either, and no drawers. It’s odd, and surely decorative coat hooks wouldn’t be hard to add. A city room doesn’t necessarily have a view. Our window looked across at another row of rooms in the building.

Breakfast was outstanding: fresh, delicious, beautifully presented and with a great variety. One of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. The room, spa and cleanliness were all excellent, and the hotel was comfortable and beautifully maintained. Every detail seemed thoughtfully arranged to help guests relax and feel cared for. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

As a hotel manager myself, I found the stay satisfying and would consider booking again. The rooms were spacious, cosy and luxurious, and we were upgraded without any fuss. The FOM was decent and hospitable, and my wife had a good interaction with the curly-haired night receptionist. The night bartender was friendly, too. There were plenty of tourist brochures, and I’d recommend the hotel for a trip to Bath. The main drawback was poor soundproofing. We could hear even slight movement in the corridor. Cleanliness is a common issue in the UK hotel industry, and the coffee machine station needs more attention. Housekeeping did a good job overall, but could improve, and there were stains on the curtains. Apart from those issues, everything was fine.
