Broadstreet Townhouse

The room was spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful little extras like biscuits in a jar and a lovely range of teas. The bathroom was gorgeous and cosy too. I couldn’t make the dinner I’d already booked, so I went to the pub next door, attached to the townhouse, and they were really accommodating about my meal. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast in the nice cafe downstairs was yummy. Perfect stay, and I’ll be back next time I’m in Bath.

The bar downstairs can be a little loud, but they’d already left ear plugs on the nightstand for us. The view was okay, though nothing special beyond the first look. I loved the room’s design, the bed, and small details like the personal note, pillow spray and old wooden furniture. The bathroom was nice, but the sink was very small with hardly any storage, which made it awkward to use. The shower products smelled great, though the drain needs unclogging. I’d definitely come back, recommended👌🏼

Breakfast was tasty, the waitress was friendly, and the price was very good value. The Wi-Fi was strong enough for checking emails while we were meeting friends and listening to Radio Caroline through their internet service. We arrived early, but the helpful bar lady from their Pig pub next door got us checked in without any fuss. We had a lovely front room on the first floor above the cafe. It was noisy when the bins were emptied very early in Bath, but the free ear plugs helped on the second night. I’d happily stay again.

The worst part of our anniversary visit was the state of the room. The bedroom and bathroom windows were rotten and visibly deteriorating, with black mould clearly present. That’s a serious maintenance and hygiene concern, not just a cosmetic problem. We were very lucky neither of us has asthma, since this could pose serious health risks and possibly trigger an attack. It’s deeply concerning that the room was considered fit for guests. Breakfast service was unacceptably slow on both mornings. We waited close to an hour for the food each day, and a long time passed before anyone even took our order. It significantly disrupted our plans in Bath and was far below what we reasonably expected from an establishment of this standing. We’d contacted the hotel before arrival to ask about parking because we were coming from London and didn’t know the area. The manager, Andy, didn’t reply until the next day, despite it being a reasonable, time-sensitive question. We appreciated the complimentary drink on arrival, but the delayed reply caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience at the start of what was meant to be a special weekend.
