OYO Bailbrook Lodge, Bath

The staff were especially kind and helpful. After we left, we realised we'd forgotten our adapter, so we called and they promptly sent it to us. It truly saved our holiday. We had a lovely summer stay, and the hotel is conveniently located not far from the main city.

There was plenty of parking, close to where we needed to be. The morning server was lovely too, and breakfast was enjoyable. Sadly, the rest of the stay didn't live up to those parts. The place felt old and dated, with threadbare, dirty carpets and dust on top of the bed. The bed was made from two mattresses and had no support. Before we arrived, the service was awful and too automated or AI-driven. I was told to book in ahead of my visit, but repeated contacts with the unmanned property still got me no answers. I won't be coming back.

The hotel looks fairly ordinary from outside, but it opens up into a lovely place once you're in. Our room had a garden view and a huge four-poster bed, and the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. Buses into Bath stop just a few metres up the road, with a ride of about 10 minutes.

We've stayed here twice and enjoyed both visits. The rooms are spacious, consistently clean, and ours had a good view. Breakfast was the best, and the staff were always friendly and available when we needed them. Some decor could use a little care, though with the hotel's age that seems to come with the place.
