Built of golden Bath stone in 1874 by the architect J. Elkinton Gill, the award-winning Ayrlington is a handsome, listed Victorian house with exceptional views of the city and its medieval abbey. Bath's magnificent historic sites, specialty shops, and excellent restaurants are all just a 5–10-minute level stroll away. The Ayrlington received a Silver-Gilt certificate at the 2014 Bath in Bloom awards. The elegant and tranquil interior is a graceful blend of English and Italian artwork, fine fabrics, and Egyptian cotton bed linens. All nineteen bedrooms have individual themes and are beautifully furnished; some have four-poster beds. The Ayrlington also offers a residents' bar and secure private parking at an additional £10. 00 per day. The hotel is entirely nonsmoking and does not accept children under five years of age.

The room was spacious and had a good view, but I wasn't impressed. This definitely isn't a five-star hotel. The place felt dated, and the hallway carpet was old and stained. In my room, the two armchair covers were worn and sticky, and the only blanket had been balled up at the bottom of the wardrobe with someone else's hair still on it. The bed was made neatly, but the sheets made my skin itch when I got in. I'm not sure if that was the fabric or the laundry products. The four-poster's fabric decoration looked old and filthy. The handheld shower leaked, the shower screen was broken, and sound travelled easily. I could hear a TV in another room until midnight and stomping overhead.

Breakfast was amazing, and our room was bigger than expected with a four-poster bed. All the reception staff were welcoming and polite. It's about a ten-minute walk into the centre. We had a fantastic two-night stay and would definitely return. Thank you so much.

We loved every bit of our stay. The room was lovely and comfortable, and seeing the Valentine's decorations when we arrived was a beautiful surprise. The cards, chocolates, and balloons were such thoughtful touches. Breakfast was unreal too, we loved how tasty everything was.

We came for my birthday and had a superb stay. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, friendly, courteous, professional, and just lovely. Breakfast was amazing and cooked really well. We stayed in The Victorian, a lovely, chic room. The hotel is around a 10-15 minute walk from central Bath, which keeps your step count up and makes the hotel nice and quiet. Bath is beautiful, and we'd recommend this hotel 100%.

I've shared a full review on my Youtube channel @Wanderlustbini for anyone wanting more detail. The Grand Suite was huge and unique. Air conditioning instead of a table fan would've taken it to another level. Breakfast felt very personal, but was expensive for the quality and quantity. The location is great, with a short walk into Bath centre.
