The tasting menu at The Queensbury’s Restaurant was a highlight. All seven courses were beautifully presented and delicious, and hearing different members of the chef’s team explain the ingredients and why they’d been paired that way made the meal even more interesting. The sommelier knew the wine list inside out and chose a perfect match. Breakfast had plenty of options for everyone, too. Our rooms were spacious, spotless, and finished to a high standard, with room to relax. Staff were attentive and seemed to anticipate what we needed. We also loved the calm lounge and bar, and the evenings were peaceful despite being close to the historic sights we wanted to see in Bath. We had a fantastic weekend at the Queensbury and would recommend it to anyone staying in the city.

The turndown service was the biggest letdown. The room didn’t feel reset for the evening: the bed wasn’t properly prepared, and the curtains, bins, and towels hadn’t been dealt with. The whole thing felt so rushed and careless that it made us laugh. It added nothing to the stay. See pictures!! The creaky stairs also need maintenance and take away from the feel of the building. Otherwise, it’s a fairly basic hotel with the essentials for a comfortable stay. The room had working air conditioning and heating, and the bathrooms were modern, well designed, and nicely finished. The price still felt high for the accommodation itself, and seemed more in line with the Michelin star restaurant downstairs than with the hotel. It covers the basics, but doesn’t quite meet the expectations that come with the price.

We’d happily return to The Queensbury Hotel. Valet Parking is worth considering if you’re bringing a car. The location is quiet enough to unwind, yet only a short walk from Bath’s main sights. The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and were friendly and helpful throughout. Our room was spacious, tidy, and well cared for. The building has real character, with a warm traditional feel, and it was still clean and comfortable. A lovely stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Bath.

If we visit Bath again, I’d book at the Queesberry first. We were there at the end of a long vacation and were very pleased with our stay. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room was comfortable, and it made a great base for seeing the city. I’d recommend the Queensberry to anyone looking for a boutique, luxury place to stay. A few practical tips from our visit: - Booking on their website can get you better deals, with extra perks for Queensberry Club members. - If you’re arriving by car, arrange valet parking when you reserve. Street parking isn’t reliable, and the city garages aren’t really any cheaper. - The basement restaurant, The Olive Tree, is worth a visit for fine dining. Guests staying at the Queensberry get 10% off, and the meal can be added to the hotel bill at checkout. - The walk from the train station is reasonable, but it’s uphill, so consider how much luggage you’ll be carrying. We had an absolutely wonderful experience.

The service was what set this place apart from the other 4 star hotels I’ve visited. There was one slight hitch when we arrived, but the room itself was bright and smart, with nice seating. The bathroom was impressive and impeccably clean. It’s on the hill leading down to Bath city centre, about a 5 or 6 minute stroll downhill. That wouldn’t stop us staying again, but it’s useful to know. We didn’t try the Michelin Star restaurant menu because it was too pricey for me, though others may enjoy that extra luxury.
