The inn itself is beautiful and the rooms are really nice, but a shower lasting more than 30 seconds floods the bathroom. Check-in felt odd. I had to ask how to get to my room, for the Wi-Fi code and what time breakfast was, things a receptionist would normally tell you. When I checked out in the morning, the woman barely looked at me, and I had to ask where breakfast was served. It felt like they weren’t interested in having me there. Such a shame, because the place is lovely, but the hospitality wasn’t there.

We stayed for four nights with three couples, and we were all impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and a special thanks to the bar staff, whom we kept busy late every night. We ate at the restaurant once, and the food was great; they also took care of our dietary requirements. There are some lovely walks into Cookham and Marlow too. We’ll be back 😊

We went to the Chequers Inn for dinner and drinks. The service was good, and the staff were their usual friendly selves. We’ve always found the food quality and drinks selection very good, so it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby. You won’t be disappointed with the food!

We’ve just come back from a wonderful two-night stay at The Chequers Inn, and are very likely to return. The rooms were spotless, the pub was cosy and beautiful, and the outdoor seating was a real sun trap. The restaurant and food were lovely, and the service was very good. It’s only about £15 in a cab from Beaconsfield Old Town, which is lovely too. Thanks so much for the complimentary bottle of Prosecco for our wedding anniversary.

The pub is beautiful, the food is really good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s dog-friendly too.
