Bishopsgate House Hotel

We came back to Anglesey and North Wales after finding this place on travelzoo, and were really glad we did. Beaumaris is a delight, with the hotel right by the sea in the middle of town. It has cosy spots to sit by the fires, and our comfortable room had everything we could need. Hazel and the staff were outstanding hosts. Breakfast each morning was freshly cooked, delicious, and had lots of choice. We also had a superb meal at the Liverpool arms next door. Thanks, Hazel, we’ll be back.

The car park at the back made getting here easy, and the waterfront is just a stone’s throw away, with a lovely restaurant next door. We only booked one night at the last minute, but were delighted to get an upgrade to a four-poster room. It had lovely linen, chocolates, port, and a great selection of tea and coffee. The bed was easily the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Hazel knew so much about the history of the house, which was fascinating to hear. Breakfast the next morning was really, really good, and the waiting staff were great, always happy to help. We enjoyed it so much we wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll definitely return.

The car park is a bit tight, though we all managed to squeeze our cars in. Hazel and the team were wonderful, and our room was lovely, with a huge bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, freshly cooked to order. If you want a traditional, well-run independent hotel, this is the place. We had a fantastic stay.
