Waveney Inn

We ate our main meal at the Waveney Inn every day during our long weekend at the River Centre. The portions were enormous. After the Sunday roast, those of us who hadn’t ordered the child’s meal wished we had, because we were stuffed.

The pool was lovely, and the entertainment room was nice. Our clean room was decorated well to fit the boat theme, and the location was lovely. The jacket potato was a bit underdone, though I’m being fussy. The pool table also wasn’t always working properly, and staff often had to come and release the balls. It’s been like that for a while. Would come again!

We stopped here for lunch while passing through the Broads, with six adults in our group. The surroundings were lovely, and the staff were very polite. Our food came out efficiently, hot and tasty. Thanks for making the visit enjoyable. We also popped into your sister pub, The Bell Inn at St Olaves, for a drink that evening and liked it there too!

The food was a real highlight. I had the specials steak and my wife chose the skate wing; my fillet was lovely and cooked just right, with a nicely spiced peppercorn sauce on the side. We cleared our plates. We stayed in the Captains Room on a Valentines Night deal. It had great views and a super king bed, and my wife says the linen was the best we've had since a hotel in Egypt six years ago. It's our first visit, but we'll definitely come back. I also had one of the best nights' sleep I've had in months.
