The Woodlands Event Centre

The courtyard garden and fishpond are a nice place to relax between lessons, and there are pleasant lake walks nearby. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable, and the food is generally pretty good. Training rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned. Tea, coffee, sweets, and biscuits are freely available. There’s also a spa, gym, and golf practice area next door, though I’m not sure what they cost.

The three-course dinner was a nice surprise. It was served a bit like a school meal, but the food was reasonable. I skipped the soup and had Steak & Ale Pie with Chips, then Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake. Both were more pub quality than restaurant quality, but nobody at our table had any complaints. I was there for a conference, and the facilities were amazing. The little "cafe" was a great idea, with sandwiches, wraps, pastries, cakes, and other snacks, so we never went hungry. There was also a wide choice of drinks, including coffee, tea, and still or sparkling flavoured water. It was all free for attendees, which made people at the event very happy.

A small lunch we planned for 3rd December 2021 turned into a much more complicated event. The staff were attentive and incredibly accommodating the whole time, including with some unusual dietary requirements. Amazing staff. Highly recommended.

The Olive Grove restaurant served nice food, and the facilities were very clean. The meeting rooms were excellent too. We were nine at the table for three hours, but had only one bottle of sparkling water and one still, which wasn’t enough. It’s a decent venue, and I’d highly recommend it for work team builds or large offsite meetings.
