The room and views were lovely, and the comfortable furnishings made it feel like a proper treat. The afternoon tea itself, though, was disappointing for £90: just a bite-size sausage roll, four finger sandwiches, two scones and four bite-size pastries. It was all pleasant enough, but there wasn’t the quality, quantity or creativity I’d expect at that price. The staff were polite and friendly, but seemed very young, possibly teenagers working part time. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but the service didn’t have the attentiveness or polish I associate with a five-star experience. The setting looked the part, yet the tea felt poor value and wasn’t memorable or refined. Apart from the surroundings, nothing about it felt five star.

The views over the city were spectacular, and the Observatory at the Grand Central Hotel Belfast had a warm, pleasant feel. We really enjoyed our Afternoon Tea on 20/02/2026 and made the most of what the menu offered. The staff were especially friendly, considerate and polite, and seemed to enjoy looking after us. It was a lovely way to take a couple of hours away from everyday life. We hope to come back later this year.

Breakfast had lots of choice and tasted great, and the room was clean, comfortable and nicely done. Everything felt fresh and well cared for, so I had a really relaxing stay at the Grand Central Hotel Belfast. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Belfast.

Breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I've had, with a great selection and quick, friendly service. The cocktail bar was lovely too, and the Cocktails were beautiful. We had a fantastic weekend stay with my sisters, from the warm welcome right through to checkout. Our room was absolutely beautiful, the beds were massive and comfortable, and the shower was hot and powerful with really nice toiletries. The staff were very helpful when we needed taxis. We've booked to come back later in the year.

The breakfast choices were excellent, and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. The service was great overall. There’s no gym, which is unusual for a modern five-star hotel and the reason I can’t give a full five stars. It might be worth arranging access through a nearby gym, as other local hotels do. There were also some lift issues during my stay.
