Delta Hotels by Marriott Birmingham

The location worked well for me, within walking distance of the city centre and just outside the ulez zone. Staff were friendly, the service was great, and the rooms were wonderful and spacious. My only gripe was having just one free socket in the room. That isn’t enough.

I liked the hotel’s classical feel and design. It’s close enough to the city centre that there’s no need to take a bus. The staff were kind and ready to help, too. I’d forgotten my adapter, but reception quickly found one when I asked. I’d recommend the hotel to friends visiting Birmingham.

The staff are fantastic, and breakfast is spot on. They’ll make omelettes or scrambled eggs fresh if you request them, and the room was cleaned and tidied each day. After work there’s often a little display of food or drink in the lobby, which is a nice extra. We’ve had fruit punch, brownies and, last night, gorgeous panna cotta. This was my second stay at Delta, and I’ll be back next month.

The gym being open 24/7 was a big plus, and the staff were helpful. Parking costs £15 for a night, but with the hotel so central, I didn’t think that was a lot. It’s a good place to stay.
