Park House Hotel

We came for our fifth anniversary and the illuminations last weekend, after coach-driver colleagues recommended the hotel from previous tours. The nightly live entertainment was brilliant, and we enjoyed the bingo. Bar prices were reasonable, and it was nice to stay in for the evening without worrying about taxis. Dinner in the bar was very good too. The sea-view room was dated, though clean and fit for purpose, and the mattresses could be better. There’s parking on site, but you have to leave your car key with reception when you’re not using the car for fire safety, and there’s an extra charge per 24 hours. We had hot-water trouble on the third floor. Staff tried everything but couldn’t fix it, and because the hotel was full we couldn’t change rooms. They gave us breakfast free for both days, which we were happy with. Breakfast service itself was brilliant, with an experienced, efficient lady who remembered us each day. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived and would definitely stay again. Thanks for the hospitality and the amazing Christmas tree.

I booked a single room for one night in September but was upgraded to a double at no extra charge. It wasn’t newly refurbished, but it was cosy and very clean. Breakfast was excellent quality with waiter service, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Great value for money, and I’ll definitely stay again. I didn’t have to pay to park at the front during my stay.

The food was nice, the room was lovely, and the staff and entertainment were excellent. I enjoyed the stay very much. One thing to know is that reaching my room meant taking stairs after getting out of the lift. There should be clearer information about an accessible entrance for people arriving without a car, as the front entrance has steep stairs. Thanks to all the staff.

We had a fantastic family and friends Christmas weekend at the Park house. Laura handled all our bookings and was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Santa came to visit and brought a present, which was lovely. The rooms were very clean and the food was amazing. Jordon was always there to help, Ash and Mathew worked hard behind the bar and were cheerful, and Charlie at reception was great. The whole team was fantastic. We’d definitely recommend the hotel.
