The Hornby Villa

David and Gill made us feel safe and comfortable, and couldn’t have been more helpful. They were friendly, informative, and ready to help with anything we needed. Our spacious superior double room was spotless, with an extra heater, towels and flannels. Parking out front was cheap and handy. There were thoughtful extras around the place: free use of an iron and board, a basket of things guests might have forgotten on the landing, and spare tea and coffee in a drawer. We didn’t need to ask for anything else during our two nights, but I’m sure David and Gill would have helped. Breakfast was affordable, with a good choice that you could pick the night before. We’re looking forward to coming back, thanks for having us!

David and Gill were extremely friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated their hospitality. Room 7 was clean and generally comfortable, though basic. It’s in a convenient spot, within walking distance of the train station, beach and shopping mall. We stayed nine nights on the second floor, and there’s no lift, so be prepared if you have heavy luggage. The room can get warm in summer without air conditioning. Bathroom water pressure was low, and the internet was unreliable, slow when it worked and often disconnecting. We got two bottles of drinking water on arrival, but none more during the stay. Housekeeping came every other day, but the sheets were changed only once in the nine nights. A few changes would make a longer stay more comfortable.

We were delayed by the trains and arrived late, but David was absolutely fine when I messaged him. We had everything we needed in Room 3, and David was a great host, explaining everything and always ready to help. Gill cooked a fabulous breakfast. They make a great team, and we’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in good old Blackpool.

We’ve been coming here on and off for 12 years, and it’s absolutely brilliant. David and Gill are first-class hosts and always make us feel welcome. The whole place is spotless, and the en suite rooms have different themes, like Asia and India. The beds are really comfortable, and the cooked breakfast is amazing 😋😋. Very highly recommended 😉
