The Lawton Hotel

The lift was handy, and breakfast was really nice with the option to get extra. It’s a short walk from the centre and Coral Island. Our room was clean, and all the staff were friendly, smiling and quick to sort out any problems. They went out of their way to make the stay better. Thanks for a great visit, we’d happily recommend it.

The location was good, and having a lift was useful. We had a great choice at breakfast, with extra portions available for a few pounds more. The staff were fantastic and made us feel very welcome during our September weekend. The room was clean but could do with updating. I’d go back, though I wish there’d been a non-slip mat in the shower.

We picked the Lawton Hotel mostly for its location for a weekend in Blackpool with three friends, and it turned out great. Everyone on staff was helpful and chatty, always smiling, and gave us directions when we needed them. There’s a late bar too. In the room we had nice towels, a hairdryer, tea and coffee, and the usual extras. I’d recommend ‘The Lawton’, and we’ll be back.

The staff were kind, polite and really accommodating, and their service was the best part. We asked for toiletries and got a small hand soap; the manager even brought shower wash from their flat. They also found us a USB charging point at reception when we asked, though there aren’t charging stations in the rooms. It’s a good value spot, especially if you’re going to ballroom at Winter Gardens, which is a short walk away. Breakfast is included and good, the linens were clean, the beds were comfortable enough, and there’s a hairdryer in the room. The rooms feel old and a bit run down. They were clean, but didn’t seem maintained or deeply cleaned, and there’s no AC. It’s quiet inside, though cars and birds make quite a bit of noise outside, stupid birds 😂. If you want a five-star resort with every amenity, this won’t suit; for the price and the service, and if you don’t mind a rustic feel, it’s a good choice.
