The New Brooklyn

Breakfast was yummy and the place was lovely and clean. Absolutely love staying here, nothing is too much trouble.

We've stayed in this hotel many times, in lots of different rooms, and it's in a fantastic location. The rooms are always spotless, Simon is a great host who'll do anything for you, and the breakfast is perfect. The breakfast staff are always friendly too. My wife, granddaughters and I will be back next year.

This was our second fabulous visit to the Brooklyn Hotel. The hosts are friendly and do an amazing job, the rooms are clean and nicely presented, and breakfast is really good. The location is perfect. We only wish we could stay a bit longer. We'll return for our annual Blackpool trip.

We stayed at The New Brooklyn Hotel over the May Bank Holiday for two nights, in Sea View Room#16. The sunset from the room was beautiful, and the seafront location is hard to fault. Being road-facing, though, the windows let in some late-night noise. Our room was on the second floor, up two flights and 39 steps, so keep that in mind if stairs are difficult. Simon was a lovely host and did a lot to make us comfortable. I'm vegetarian, and although the breakfast options were limited for me, he made sure I had plenty to choose from. Let him know your preferences ahead of time, ideally the night before. The dining room tables are assigned by room number. The decor throughout was lovely. There are towels, biscuits on arrival, shampoo and conditioner, plus a bar and a pleasant reception lounge. The toiletries aren't replaced once they're used up, though. It sits somewhere between a B&B and a hotel: Simon has put effort into giving it a different feel, but it came up a little short of what I'd expect from a hotel. Parking costs £5 per day, payable at the hotel. Given the room price and the fact that many hotels offer parking free, I felt it should have been included. As for getting around, the main attractions are walkable. Pleasure Beach is about 15 minutes away at an easy pace, while Blackpool Tower is roughly 1.2 miles north, or a 30-45 minute walk depending on your speed. I was happy with the stay and have no real complaints, but planning ahead might turn up a cheaper, better deal. For context, Hampton by Hilton was cheaper on a weekday than our stay during one of the busiest times of year. I couldn't give half a star, so chose 4 rather than the 3.5 I felt it merited.
