Isallt Guest House

The people around here are some of the nicest I’ve ever met, and without them I don’t think I’d have enjoyed my time away. Richard was the standout. He let me wait in the house while our car was at a local garage, then let us leave it in the car park until my wife returned from her Ffestiniog railway trip. Thanks, Richard. We hope to visit again. The room was lovely, with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for ages, even compared with home. The shower room was tricky for me as a large man, since there wasn’t much space. The packed lunch/breakfast was very good. There’s no cafe on site, though there are several good ones locally. The description mentions a coffee house, but you can only make your own coffee from what’s provided in the room and downstairs, which I wouldn’t call a coffee house.

Our car broke down, so we found ourselves at Isallt Guest House at the last minute. The owners were lovely, and we were really happy with the B&B. Our rooms had everything we needed and were spotless. Since the car was being repaired remotely, the owner kindly offered us a lift to the garage, which we really appreciated. We were given walking routes and had a simple but excellent breakfast. We could also order lunch the day before for a very affordable price. I’m excited there may be gluten-free options, as my friend has a gluten allergy. We’d highly recommend Isallt Guest House!

It’s a shame the shops in Ffestininog have closed, because it’s a lovely town with plenty to do. Isallt guest house was a lovely place to stay, with free parking and warm, clean rooms. Richard, the Gest, was very welcoming and knew a lot about the district. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I liked that they make up a packed lunch to take out instead of breakfast, since lots of people don’t like the old-style breakfast. There’s a train station just beyond the bottom of the garden. We had room 1, which was a great size, with a lovely comfortable bed and everything spotlessly clean. The guest house was fabulous, and the host was friendly and knew his stuff. I’d definitely recommend it.
