Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel

The room was very clean and freshly prepared every day from the 13th to the 17th of October 25. Thanks to Vanessa, Kirsty, Jen and Tracy for a first-class job. We had great service throughout the hotel. Irene in the dining and bar area was amazing, so helpful and friendly. The other bar staff member on Thursday the 16th at dinner was also extremely helpful and professional, though I didn't catch her name. Lydia gave excellent breakfast service, and the dining area was clean and tidy. The reception ladies were friendly and accommodating to our group's needs. Every staff member I spoke to was really friendly and helpful 🙂. The stay was good, though there's room for improvement. Parts of the hotel, especially the room and restaurant, looked tired. The loo roll was extremely cheap, which made me wonder what else they'd skimped on.

The public areas were spotless, the hotel is well located, and every interaction with staff was positive. They were friendly and respectful, and the morning receptionist helped me print a very important document. I have another stay booked in a few weeks, so this trip hasn't put me off using the hotel. There were more negatives than positives this time, though. On arrival, we asked for food and were told there was no chef, so there was no food available to us. The room was very dated and needed freshening up, with some minor repairs done to a poor standard. Shower pressure was weak, though the water was hot enough. There was no hot buffet breakfast, but plenty of cereal and toast. A team member took our hot food order and brought it to the table, but it wasn't freshly cooked and had been sitting under a hot plate. The black pudding was rock hard, the sausages were overdone on one side, the beans seemed warm, and the bacon was dry.

The hotel was easy to find from Knutsford, and the staff gave us a lovely welcome. It was a great place for an event like today's. Thank you, Louisa Well-being Academy.
