The room had loads of character and was quiet and cosy. Everything was clean and very well looked after, and the staff were friendly and helpful. At check-in they showed us to the room and explained the facilities, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious too. Thanks for a short but lovely stay, we’ll definitely be back.

The room being left unlocked and not properly closed was concerning. Nothing was taken, and reception were very apologetic when we told them, but the old doors need extra care to close properly and the cleaners should know that. I’d be cautious about leaving valuables. The other letdown was breakfast. I love hotel breakfasts, and we usually stay at Premier Inn, where I’m always happy with what’s offered. Here, the buffet had nice croissants, sliced bread for toast and cereal, but only one kind of plain yogurt, some tired-looking dried fruit, and no fresh or tinned fruit. The scrambled egg was honestly awful. The porridge the next day was quite nice, but the coffee pot wasn’t working, leaving only little instant Nescafe sachets, a disappointment when you like a good coffee to start the day. There were good things too. The decor was lovely, the place felt warm and cosy, the rooms were spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Free tea, coffee and biscuits were available in the lounge in the afternoon. We knew it was quite far from the main town and were happy to walk, but anyone who doesn’t want to walk much should know they’ll need a car, bus or taxi into Bournemouth itself. We got a half price Black Friday deal and found it quite nice at that price, but I think paying full price could be disappointing. Perhaps the glowing reviews raised my expectations too much. It’s a nice place to stay, but a bit more realism in the reviews would help. I tried emailing my thoughts instead of leaving a review, but the email address in their review request bounced back.

We were welcomed so warmly and even got an upgrade on arrival. The staff were all amazing. The hotel is beautifully decorated and maintained, and well placed for reaching the seafront. Our room was spacious and immaculate, with lovely decor, a fabulous bed and fluffy bath sheets instead of little towels. The bathroom was great too, especially the spa bath. We’d definitely return.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a big bed and the handy addition of two luggage racks. I also loved the shower, the water was hot and the pressure was incredible. Breakfast was lovely, and Ana was warm and attentive. The staff were approachable and helpful whenever we had an issue. The manor was impeccably maintained and had gorgeous decorations and furnishings. We stayed three nights and were really glad we chose it for a multi-night visit. One upgrade that would help is better TV casting or streaming. The screen mirroring on our TV was glitchy at times.
