I booked at the last minute for a work trip because the restaurant menu online looked good. At check-in, I was told parking cost an extra £15. Then the dinner menu turned out to be completely different, with just three choices: two fish dishes and one mushroom dish. My colleague couldn't eat any of them, and there were no alternatives, so we had to eat elsewhere. They said the website hadn't been updated, but three choices in a restaurant is still ridiculous. The room was acceptable, which is why I'm giving two stars.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, definitely five stars for them. It's a nice hotel, but feels a little overrated. The rooms and corridors need updating because they have a student accommodation feel.

The staff were welcoming and hospitable, and made my family and me feel comfortable. There were decent facilities, including a cosy food area. Our room was clean and cosy, with a coffee machine, iron, wardrobe and a bathtub in the bathroom. No Netflix, but you can borrow board games to take to the room.

Free parking at the hotel was a bonus, and the staff were all friendly, especially reception and the breakfast waiter. Breakfast was very good, with a fantastic full English and good continental options. The room was cosy, clean and suited our short visit, though the mattress in room 305 had a few lumps, probably from the springs, and could do with replacing. We stayed one evening for the Christmas market. The beach was a ten-minute walk away, and the market was about fifteen minutes on foot. We took a taxi back that evening for just £6. I'd stay again, and this would be my first choice next time.

The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and efficient. My husband and I had a lovely time at this very nice boutique hotel in the town centre. It was modern and very clean, and we'd definitely recommend it.
