The little thoughtful extras made this charming family-run place stand out, from the coffee machine downstairs to USB sockets by the plugs. It was spotless, well located, friendly, and excellent value. I’ll be back.

Really welcoming, cosy and comfortable, and great value too. A delightful place to stay, kept spotlessly clean.

The owners were helpful and nice, and the location worked really well, with pubs, restaurants and local shops just down the road. We enjoyed our few days here, though some parts of the stay were disappointing. We booked Family room 5. It was spacious, with one double bed and two quite soft single beds, though the singles felt narrow. The TV was a good size, the mini fridge was useful, the chairs comfortable, and there was a nice chest of drawers. Our balcony faced a tree, so we couldn't see the sea from there. We could just make out the sea in the distance from the side window. We also couldn't use the balcony because we didn't have a key, or weren't given one. The bathroom had plenty of space, nice soap and shower gel, plus a wardrobe and helpful shelves. I didn't want to store clothes in the bathroom where they could take on moisture, so I think the wardrobe would be better placed in the bedroom. After each flush, dirty water came back up, so the toilet system didn't seem to be working properly. The Tea Room was advertised as open from 8am to 7pm, but toast, pastries, melon, watermelon, fruit and cake were only available from 8 to 10am, then everything was put away. There wasn't cake every day, and when it was available it was a very dry marble cake, not the Swiss roll-looking cakes in the pictures. The coffee machine was the best part. Since most guests are out during the day and early evening, locking the room at 7pm also seemed early. It would be better if it stayed open until 9pm.

The price was reasonable, the room was a good size, and breakfast was alright, though the choices were limited. Getting to the top floor meant a lot of stairs. The mattress was a real problem: very thin and far too soft, perhaps only suitable for lighter people or children. There was also just one set of keys, so when I went in early I had to stay awake until the rest of the party came back, then climb the stairs again.

Breakfast was lovely, and the room was nicely decorated. It was beautiful, but too small for two people. There was no wardrobe, so we had to use the over-the-door hanger, which wasn't ideal. The low eaves also made the room feel dangerous, as my partner kept hitting his head.
