There was a lovely view from our beautiful room, and the beds were comfy. It's close to the beach, has free parking, and even has EV charging: one charger at the front and two at the rear, rated at 7.4 kW. The price was great too. Mike was especially friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. It's a superb family holiday hotel, with lots for little ones to do, including the pool, drawing, billiards and more. We were very happy and can't complain about anything. We'd definitely come back.

The staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming, and for what we paid the room was good. My daughter loved the ping pong table. We slept well on the first night, but on the second, water gushing against the window woke us up. The guttering above it seems broken. It only came to light because of the rain, and things do break, so I don't blame the hotel. I told the woman at reception that morning, and she apologised and noted it straight away. That seemed proactive to me, especially in case someone who stays in five-star hotels and likes to moan comes along. It's a three-star hotel with five-star staff, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great-value place to crash for a few nights.

The staff at Riviera Hotel and Apartments were consistently courteous and welcoming, always happy to stop for a chat. At the front desk, Ms Nicole, Ms Carolina and Mr David took extra care to see whether we could book a Suite instead of our Family room. We were delighted to move into the Suite. It's a great place to stay, with five-star, guest-focused service. We just hope the Cunarder Restaurant opens again soon for Christmas, and that the Bar and Grill returns to its full menu. Keep it up, Team Riviera. You rock.

We'd booked one night and paid an extra £35 for breakfast. The day before, my husband called the hotel to explain that I'd fallen down the stairs and couldn't drive. He asked whether we could move the booking to any time in the next 12 months so we wouldn't lose what we'd paid. He was told the request would be passed to the manager. The next day, when we should have been staying, we were basically told no, and lost a lot of money. It's a shame they couldn't have told us before the booking date. Someone homeless could have stayed in our room and had the breakfast. In today's society, it's good when companies and staff show understanding and help in situations like ours. Where was the compassion and empathy?
