The location was good, close to town, and the rooms were spacious and clean. They could use a deep clean, though: there was mould on the curtains, some linen was stained, and we had to ask for towels because the ones provided weren’t clean. We also noticed a few repairs around the property that need attention. It’s inexpensive, so it’s probably fine for a few days if all you need is somewhere to sleep. More staff around would help. The first thing we encountered was a 15-minute wait for someone to answer the ring doorbell. Reception stayed closed for all three days. When a gentleman finally came, he said he wasn’t working but would help check us in. The lobby drinks machine seemed to work once, then broke every time we tried it.

For one night, the cheapest place we could find wasn’t awful, but I wouldn’t stay longer. We had only two towels for three people, and the stained towels weren’t great. The shower head wouldn’t stay in its holder, so we had to hold it while washing. The room was a decent size but cold, and being under the stairs meant I could hear everything, including the bell at 7am, which woke me up. It was cheap and about ten minutes from the town centre. There’s free street parking if you can find a space, or overnight parking for £10.

I was meant to stay three nights, but checked out the next morning. The room was freezing and filthy, and the bed was so uncomfortable. The bathroom, if you can call it that, was awful: mould all over, a shower door that wouldn’t close properly so water spilled onto the floor, and no sink plug. The lift looked like it was from the 1920s, with a grid you pull across. It didn’t feel safe, so I took the stairs back down. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. How do places like this get away with it? Surely there should be a regulator? And they had the audacity to charge me. They should have paid me to stay there.

The staff made our stay wonderful. They were professional, polite, and very helpful with my questions. Because of my disability, they reserved a parking space for me. The rooms are clean and have what you need, and the family rooms are a good size for children. It’s very close to the beach and restaurants. The buffet breakfast was gorgeous, with loads of options for anyone: a full fry-up, cereal, fruit juice, and bottomless tea. The restaurant was clean and spacious, with the tables set so it didn’t feel cramped. I was extremely pleased with everything, especially the staff. Thank you! 🙂🙂

My first visit in August 2022 was a 4/5, but the second, in April 2023, was a joke at the customer’s expense. The price wasn’t exorbitant, but what happened to my friend and me was a nightmare. We entered a room that stank, so we asked to move. In the next room, the sheets were dirty, with dried stains and hair, and the beds had no pillows. The towels were dirty too, one with a large black mark and another with what looked like foundation or powder. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. I asked for a refund, but the receptionist said I’d have to speak to the manager in the morning. Instead, we were moved to a third room. It had no TV, no kettle despite that being in the room description, no pillows, and no towels. We eventually got towels after asking several times. It was very cold and smelled of burning. We stayed because it was late and we didn’t want to remember ourselves after the night. We were told the manager would be there in the morning so we could discuss a refund, but the manager wasn’t there at the agreed time. Another receptionist tried to help and confirmed we could be refunded for the remaining two nights. We agreed, but when Booking.com asked about the refund, the manager left the enquiry unanswered. We still haven’t received any money, and the hotel management has ignored our messages. Late at night there was also a smell of smoked marijuana in the corridors. The approach to customers felt unprofessional, deceptive, and dishonest. Hotel management, if you’re reading this, expect us to take legal action if we still don’t get our money back.
