The room was lovely and comfortable, and it had a fridge. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and there was a nice choice of food at the bar. I was only there for one night before flying off on holiday. The one gripe was paying £5 to park for 12 hours, which was exactly how long I stayed.

For £69 for a double, I got a spacious room with a good desk area and a sofa. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well, too. The lobby is enormous, with Chesterfield-style leather sofas all over, and the bar and restaurant have a decent choice. Staff were friendly. I’ve stayed in hotels all around England for work, and this is one of the best. I don’t get why its rating is so low. My flight was cancelled, so I ended up here, and if it happens again, I’d stay here again. It feels more like a four-star place.

The mugs, cups and kettle were spotless, and the Wi-Fi worked well. It’s about seven minutes from Leeds Bradford airport, the staff were very friendly, and there were plenty of car park spaces. The room was very small and looked clean at first, but there was loads of dust, especially on the curtains and headboard. We arrived in January to a room with no heating on, and the heater didn’t warm it up overnight. If you like a warm room, this isn’t the place. It’s okay for a Britannia hotel at the right price, but it needs a deep clean.

The woman at reception was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. The room was okay, though cold, and I could hear a lot through the walls. The man next door stayed up playing video games late into the night and kept me awake. Dinner was horrific. The usual restaurant wasn’t open, which was strange for a Friday before half term, so the menu was very limited and the prices were high for what we got. The chicken and vegetables were really tough and dry, the potatoes were cold, and the portions were pretty small. Given the quality, that may have been a good thing.

I called around 1pm today to reserve a room, gave them my card details, and was told reception closed at 8pm and that I had to cancel before 12. I’ve been trying to call since 4pm to cancel, and now it’s 7pm. They’ve ignored every call except the one from an unknown number, which they answered and then declined. I’m posting this so you know I CANCELLED MY CARD AND REQUESTED A NEW ONE. Ignoring me to try to get £68.50 is crazy. Enjoy 😉
