The meal today was awful. My steak was so tough it was almost impossible to cut, and the roast beef came in small, tough pieces. It’s a real shame to see the food decline so much in such a short time at such a lovely old place. This was our third visit to the Falcon this year, after a friend spoke highly of the food, ales and staff. Our first visit lived up to every recommendation, but the quality had already dropped considerably by the second. We won’t be coming back or recommending it to friends or colleagues. Disappointed.

The breakfast was a lovely start to the day, and my single room was spacious, with a really comfortable bed. The hotel has plenty of character, and the staff were brilliant throughout my stay. They let me check in early and even helped me find a parking space when the car park was busy. I was there for a local wedding.

The homemade puddings came in generous portions, just like the main courses. There were three of us, and we had roast beef, shin of beef and roast pork. Everything was spot on, with ample servings and great value. Service was great too, and the tables had fresh flowers and locally made bread.

The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was great, especially their freshly made bread. I booked the basic single room for one night while on a motorcycle ride to Wales. The bed was comfortable, and the room had an ensuite. There’s a private car park off the road and a courtyard too. I’d happily stay again.

Really good food, all homemade, even the bread and ice cream. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the lounge is dog friendly too. Would definitely recommend eating here.
