I was passing through the area and stopped at the pub for a drink before driving back to Devon, after taking an elderly lady back to Surrey. That was 140 miles there and another 140 back. The stares I got as a stranger put me off a bit. I welcome strangers in my own pub and appreciate the chance to serve them. When I’m back in Bramley next week, I hope I find somewhere more welcoming.

The beds are really comfortable, though the rooms are very basic, pretty much just a bed and toilet/shower facilities. The owners are welcoming and accommodating. There’s new staff doing their best to rebuild what was once a known pub. They’re bringing in a new menu for evening meals and breakfasts, and I’m looking forward to coming back when I’m working in the area.

A big thanks to Tom and everyone at the pub. We had a great time at the FA Cup Final, with the BBQ and live music over the weekend. Highly recommend it for a day out with family and friends 🙂

We were miles from our campsite after getting dropped off here, but it turned into a lovely stop. We enjoyed the 2 for 1 fish n chips, and when we asked about buses back, the landlord offered us a lift since there weren’t any. Friendly atmosphere and a lovely pub, highly recommend.

A big group of walkers dropped in last Saturday without warning, and we were made to feel welcome straight away. They calmly served us one by one and apologised for not having a few things, herbal tea included, while making everyone comfortable. I asked their names because they were so kind: Martin, Belinda and Tom. Thanks to each of them. Do go, they’ll be glad to see you and give you a warm welcome!
