Lamb Inn

We loved our 3 nights at this sweet little inn. It was cosy and comfortable, the food was divine, and the staff were so kind and welcoming. Breakfast had wonderful vegetarian choices, including the best meatless sausage I’ve ever tasted, and dinner was superb. One thing to know: some ground-floor room windows open onto the sidewalk. We like to keep our curtains and windows open, so we switched to a higher-floor room. It was an easy change. A truly delightful stay. Thank you, Lamb Inn!

Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, and the stay was quite good value. We visited in freezing January weather, but our room was very warm, fairly spacious and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. The bed especially deserves a mention, it was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The Lamb Inn is an old-world pub just off Burford’s high street, full of character with low ceilings, beams and log fires. Highly recommended!

Dinner feels like an occasion here, with a menu built around classic British flavours, seasonal ingredients, beautifully presented dishes and a thoughtfully chosen wine list. Breakfast is just as good, hearty and fresh, and there’s no need to rush. The restaurant is a highlight. The rooms combine rustic character with modern comfort. Plush beds, quality linens and personal touches make the stay feel less generic, and it’s the sort of place where you sleep exceptionally well. Whether you’re exploring nearby villages or settling in for a quiet countryside break, the Lamb Hotel offers charm, comfort and quiet luxury. A lovely option for a romantic getaway, a foodie weekend or anyone wanting a slower pace in the Cotswolds.

We stopped in for a drink at Sunday lunchtime in January. This cosy, lovely hotel, restaurant and pub has lots of character, with several seating areas and rooms warmed by log burners or open fires.
