I arrived in November without a plan or booking and ended up staying three unplanned days, paying night by night. I had the female dorm to myself, as men and women are separated. Tŷ Glyndŵr was the best hostel experience I’ve had, and the price was great. The bed was so comfortable, and the staff, especially coffi, were kind and made sure I had everything I needed. There’s a nice basement bar with unusual cocktails. The central location means you can hear some noise at night when the bar has live music, which I’d recommend going to see. I planned to stay in Caernarfon or visit Eryri (Snowdonia) on a budget, but wound up staying much longer because I liked it so much. Thanks, Coffi, and sorry this took me so long to write!

The dorms have eight beds and can be set up for men or women only. There are fans and heaters in the rooms, but no hairdryer. Showers are shared, two per floor, and the toilets are separate. Breakfast is included, usually bread, jam, milk, coffee, cornflakes and yogurt. The place is conveniently close to the castle, Iceland and Asda, with plenty of restaurants nearby. You can hear people talking or doors opening in other rooms, though I didn’t find it too bothersome. The accommodation was quite clean.

Everyone was kind and caring, and Coffey was especially helpful. I had to leave before breakfast, so she kindly put together a breakfast to go for me. They also gave us hiking tips, and we felt very welcome. A lovely hostel for a very good price.

The private twin room was clean, well appointed and had a very comfortable bed. The place was tidy and the staff were superb, including a helpful person who greeted me on arrival and couldn’t do enough. I stayed a few weeks ago to visit Caernarfon Castle, just 30 seconds away, and wanted easy access to Anglesey. Other pubs nearby can get a little noisy, so keep that in mind. Thanks for a great stay.

Su is a wonderful host and an artist, with personal touches throughout the cafe and rooms. My kids loved it, and when we were late for breakfast because they slept in, Su kindly let us have more time. The boutique hotel is within walking distance of every part of the castle. Highly recommended!
