Premier Inn Camberley

I've stayed here twice now and had a really pleasant time both visits. Everyone was lovely. Chris, the manager, is friendly and easy to approach. Maria in the kitchen was always courteous and cooked properly, and Oksana, the new Ukrainian woman at reception, gave us a warm welcome. The woman at the bar was always smiling and courteous too. Chris at the Premier Inn reception made a great first impression. He was welcoming, friendly and genuinely helpful from the moment I arrived. Check-in was smooth, and he took time to make sure everything was okay with my stay. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out. Thanks, Chris, you're a real credit to the hotel.

This was probably the most depressing Premier Inn I've stayed at, and likely my last. Congratulations, Premier Inn, you've lost a customer. The hotel was hard to find and had no parking, despite what the website says. The nearest overnight car park is a multi-storey, seven minutes away on foot, which I timed. Getting there meant going up and down lifts and stairs through a shopping centre and along the High Street. The hotel is on the High Street, where there are some dubious characters late at night. My room was clean, and the staff were sweet and chirpy. I have no complaints about them; they seemed to be doing their best with a poor hand. Breakfast was the usual generic chain hotel fare. But the room itself was very dated, and the mattress had a pronounced dip that made it really uncomfortable. I slept badly, with flat, overused pillows. I needed an iron and ironing board for a meeting the next day, so I asked reception. They made me carry them to my room, and the iron didn't work properly. The board was old and stained. Premier Inn still tries to upsell Wi-Fi access and deliberately slows it down to charge more. That was a very disappointing extra on an awful stay. It used to be a reliable mid-level hotel, but clearly isn't anymore.

Precious looked after me, and what a lovely woman she is, so friendly and always smiling. This was my second time at the hotel, and I'd definitely come back. See you next time, Precious.
