Premier Inn Camborne

The staff were friendly and the location was good, but the room felt like it had been frozen in 1987. I was only there for 18 hours, and the place badly needs renovation. For the price, it wasn’t great.

The restaurant put us off going back during our stay. Service was poor, the wait was long despite it not being busy, and there was a dead fly among the cooked tomatoes. The Prem Plus room was spotless apart from the windowsill, though the shower and tap water had hardly any pressure. The ladies at reception were lovely and so welcoming, especially the one whose sister lives in Evesham. Still, this was our best PI so far. Well done, guys!

When we arrived during storm Goretti, the hotel and much of the surrounding area had lost power. The two women at reception had expected the storm might knock out their booking systems, so they copied the information they needed onto paper beforehand. That let them check in people with bookings and those without them with very little fuss. They helped keep a lot of people safe in a dangerous situation. Thank you again, ladies, and well done.

It was quiet all night, even though the hotel is close to a main road. My room was very clean, as expected, and the staff were very friendly. St Ives and Truro are easy to reach, and I could even get to Penzance. The PI there was more than twice the price of this one, so this is an excellent choice for tourists visiting Cornwall. Highly recommended.
