Premier Inn Cannock South

The Beefeater opposite is a huge pub, with welcoming staff and very good evening meals. Breakfast was also a highlight. There was a small kitchen staffing issue on my first morning, and not all cooked items were available, but a woman I think was the manager rolled up her sleeves and made sure guests could still get a hot breakfast. The food was cooked perfectly, possibly the nicest Premier Inn breakfast I've had. That was real customer service. I often stay at Premier Inns for work and was here for two nights, eating on the company meal deal. The two reception ladies were welcoming and efficient at check-in. My room was smaller than I'm used to, but spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The USB sockets by the bed were a big plus, as some Premier Inns don't have them. A faultless stay, full five stars.

The staff are very nice, and free parking is a plus. The rooms are really tiny, though the beds and bathrooms are very good and new. Heating doesn't stay on for long or through the night, so the room can get very cold, especially in autumn and winter. Room service is by request, but unreliable. There aren't power outlets by the beds, though there is a USB charger that's slow but acceptable. The Beefeater restaurant is a typical Premier Inn restaurant. The food quality is very good, and the bar is very good too. The meal deal is nice, but the price isn't consistent. One day everything was included, then the next day we ate and drank the same things and had to pay.

The day before we arrived, the staff called to ask if we needed any help. We said we were mountain biking, and they told us we could keep the bikes securely in our room with us. We were on a mountain bike holiday and had booked another stay here. The staff were amazing, and it was a wonderful experience.

Kate made the stay that bit more special. She was the model of the service you'd expect at a five-star place. The reception staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms clean and tidy, and the bar and restaurant areas nicely presented. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
