For a quick midweek stopover, this might be alright, but nearby budget hotels at similar prices offer more facilities and a better stay. On Friday night, loud music from the attached nightclub carried up to the top floor and disrupted me until about 2am. I had a comfortable top-floor family room to myself, and the location was fantastic. Still, even for a budget hotel, there were too many drawbacks: I couldn’t check in early or check out late, or leave my bags. WiFi was free for only 30 minutes a day, the shower pressure was poor, and there was no lounge or bar area.

I’ve stayed here three times, only because I’d already booked and couldn’t change it. The staff are the only redeeming thing: they’re kind and helpful. In my opinion, everything else is gross. The towels didn’t look or feel clean, they weren’t crisp, and I couldn’t use one. I dried myself with my pajamas instead. The floors were gross and there was dust on the bed. I’ve had three different rooms, and none of the bathrooms seemed cleaned at all. They had lines of dirt that a good bleaching could fix.

If you’re going clubbing, the location is perfect. You walk straight out into the nightlife. For a quiet getaway or a good night’s sleep, book somewhere else. The noise starts around 6pm, gets louder as the night goes on, and doesn’t stop until about 4am. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. My room was clean and tidy, huge, and had big windows overlooking the street below.

We’d been worried by the reviews and nearly looked for somewhere else, but the staff were pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable. It’s above a Walkabout, so I can imagine weekends aren’t great. Midweek there was some noise, but it could’ve been much worse. Not ideal for light sleepers or kids. I’d stay again because it’s in a great location. Park at the train station.
