Pine Lake Resort

The rooms are spacious, immaculate, and good value for a short break in a lovely setting. There’s a TV, a full kitchen, and a bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The leisure facilities are very good too, with a pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and small gym. My one reservation is the bar and its food. Neither is fantastic, and while it isn’t especially expensive, I did find it a little overpriced. The staff are efficient and friendly, though. We’ve visited twice and will come back.

The lake views were great, and there are walks nearby. The cabins were well looked after, and the place was really nice. We had fun at the free crazy golf. The arcade was okay, though some slot machines were blocked and some of the racing game wasn’t working. The pool was fine, but you have to book a time to use it. The jacuzzi was okay, though you can’t sit in it when the bubbles aren’t working. The pool was closed on our last day, so we couldn’t use it then. We didn’t try the tennis court, ping pong, or gym, but they looked fine. We stayed four nights, so the apartment was serviced on day three. They changed the toilet paper, brought fresh towels, and emptied the bin. Recycling had started to pile up, and it would have been helpful if they’d taken it, or made the bed, but that’s a minor thing. The bathroom door handle was faulty and wouldn’t open from inside. Luckily there were two of us, so one could let the other out. We reported it.

We only stayed two nights, so didn’t get around to using the indoor pool, sauna, watersports, or mini-golf. The resort also has a restaurant, a small shop for snacks, and a games room. Its lake is picturesque, and the location worked well for exploring local attractions like the Lake District. We visited Arnside and Grange-over-sands during our short stay. The studio was clean and spacious for a couple, with everything we needed, including a kitchenette, microwave, and a filter coffee pot, which was a nice touch. Some guests mention the furniture feels a bit “caravan-y”; we still found it comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. A fantastic spot for a weekend getaway.

Never had a bad experience here. The rooms are very clean, the staff are great, and there are some good-sized pike in the lake if you fancy fishing.
