The seafront location deserves five stars, and breakfast was a real bright spot. The staff were welcoming, and the chef happily made poached eggs to order. Without that, I’d have rated the service lower. The room felt like the standard Premier Inn setup, but it was looking ready for a refresh and didn’t really sparkle. The bed still gave me a good night’s sleep, though it seemed worn and due for a change too. I had to ask for the room to be serviced, and I’m tired of having to request basic service. There weren’t any spare towels either, which was a pain when I needed two showers a day for work and had to dry off with a damp one. It’s a Premier Inn, so you know roughly what to expect, but local staff make a difference. The hotel was booked for me, so I didn’t choose it myself.

We gave the place another try because we didn’t want to go out, even though the food on our last visit had been awful. This time, every meal was fresh, well cooked and really lovely. Breakfast was great too, and they even made a few things fresh for me when it was nearly over. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. It was also the first time we’d arrived to find a welcome note and a packet of biscuits in our room. Such a lovely touch. Thanks 😊

We had a great short break here. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast is £10 for as much as you want, and there’s evening food if you need it. The hotel is right on the seafront, with a lovely walk along the promenade. It’s about five minutes on foot into town and ten from the train station. The outdoor sauna on the Prom is popular, and people follow it with a swim, but that’s separate from the hotel and costs ££. Book a Sea View Room if you can. One small drawback, there’s no 2 Pin socket in the bathroom.

The family room was lovely and clean, and the children were given a whole pack of biscuits, a really nice gesture. The management and the rest of the team were very friendly, and breakfast had a good variety. The room doors lock securely, which helped keep the kids from escaping too far 😂 We found the stay very accommodating and would highly recommend it.

The rooms were good and the staff friendly, but parking was a surprise at £8.0 per day. I think it should be included in the price. I’ve stayed at lots of Travelodges and never paid separately for parking. This was my first time paying for it at a Premier Inn.
