Ramada by Wyndham Cheltenham

The food was a problem too. I ordered steak and my wife had fish, but both were cooked in the same pan, so the steak tasted of fish and the fish of beef. They refused to take responsibility. They say parking is free, and the lot is huge, but a few weeks later I got a £60 fine for not registering my car. They hadn’t even put a ticket on the windshield. Reception should tell guests they need to register, that’s part of the service. I spent a month in the UK and no other hotel had this issue. Free parking should mean free parking, with no extra conditions like this. It feels like a scam and cheating. Never ever recommend this place.

The room was spacious and really clean, and I slept well in a very comfortable bed. It was quiet inside and the area around the hotel was peaceful too. The staff made a warm first impression and stayed attentive and professional. I was also pleasantly surprised by the restaurant: tasty food, quick service, and excellent cocktails. The Ramada by Wyndham Cheltenham was easy to find and conveniently located, with parking available as a bonus. I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cheltenham.

The food was good, but the stay was a complete waste of money. I tried to check out twice and they wouldn’t refund me. My first room was in such poor condition it felt worth only a quarter of what I paid, and it badly needed renovation. They moved me to another room, but over my 17-day stay mine wasn’t serviced on five days. Reception was almost always unmanned, and the bar and dining rooms often had no staff either. There was no intercom, so any room issue meant walking down to reception, and the lift wasn’t working. Often I’d get there and find nobody. Calling them on mobile felt like I had the wrong number. The gym was left to fend for itself too. Very poor state of affairs. My advice: stay away!

The room was so dirty and smelly, with cobwebs on the ceiling and nails sticking out of the walls. It felt unsafe and clearly hadn’t been cleaned or maintained properly, so we left as soon as we arrived at Ramada Cheltenham. We asked for a refund right away since staying there was impossible, but reception was rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. They refused even though we hadn’t stayed in the room at all. This was some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced. Completely unacceptable for a hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
