Premier Inn Cheltenham Town Centre

The meal deal was extremely good value, and I’ve had another good stay thanks to the staff. I’ve been here many times, and they’re always friendly and helpful. Lainy even remembered my name, which was lovely. My one complaint is the disabled room’s distance from the lift. I found the walk exhausting, and I’d have thought that room would logically be closer to the lift. I expect to be back soon.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this budget-friendly hotel was welcoming and the service was consistently helpful. Toby, the young night front desk worker, and Ellie, the head chef, both deserve a mention for the excellent service they gave me.

It was a lovely quiet getaway, and I slept really well. Stephan and Darek at the front desk were always kind and polite, and Will in the kitchen went the extra mile by sending out plates warm and full. Thanks to all of you.

I was here for work and needed WiFi, but the free connection was appalling and didn’t work. Why advertise it? The shower was just as frustrating. Its temperature kept switching from the hot setting I wanted to cooler water and back again, literally every minute throughout my evening shower. In room 321, the TV remote was disgusting and needs replacing. The desk lamp’s switch was completely gone, so I don’t know why they left it there. At breakfast, the apple juice jug stayed empty for the entire 20 minutes I was there. The man running breakfast/the restaurant was just hanging around, so someone should have refilled it. The food was at the low end of the Premier Inn breakfast scale too. Usually there are individual yoghurt pots, but here they put a load in one bowl for guests to scoop from. No thanks. Dinner was no better. They told me they didn’t have steak, gammon, or one other item. These own-brand Premier Inn restaurants are poor at the best of times, and I don’t understand why they can’t manage their food stock when they’re never full. I did get a refund for the meal deal and ate elsewhere. The room window wouldn’t open at all, not even a little on a restrictor. Premier Inn seems to be going downhill fast. Over the past two years, only a few have been decent, while the others felt run down, like they were taking money without reinvesting. I wouldn’t stay at this one again.
