The rooms are on the small side, but had everything we needed and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated, in a great location. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Food at the bar and restaurant was superb, and so was breakfast. I especially liked that ingredients are sourced locally and the menu says exactly where each comes from. We loved our stay.

Room 8 is beautiful, but it’s in the attic, so be prepared for narrow corridors and two flights of stairs. We stayed for two nights. The location is excellent, the breakfast was perfect, the service was excellent, and the model village is charming. We were disappointed that no one told us when we booked that the bar and restaurant would be closed to guests on our first night because of a private event. We’d chosen this place to use its on-site facilities.

We enjoyed breakfast, with a full English available and extra items on request, and spent evenings in the bar by the log fire. Location-wise, the hotel’s hard to fault: there are plenty of bars and cafes in the village, plus the hotel’s own car park, where we always found a space. As guests, we paid just £7.50 for four days. It’s an old building with old features, including narrow stairs, and some rooms suit people better than others. Our first room, number 7, was in the attic overlooking the car park, with sloped ceilings and beams that were awkward beside the bed and in the shower, especially for someone 6ft’3. We asked to change rooms on arrival, and Christina at the front of house was very happy to help. She was particularly friendly and helpful every day. We moved to larger room 4, which had a flat ceiling. Both rooms had super king beds.

We found this lovely pub after trying two places that didn’t impress us during our visit to Bourton-on-the-Water. It’s only about a hundred yards from the main village, with brilliant decor, atmosphere, and a great choice of beers. We were celebrating our golden wedding anniversary, and Adam took such good care of my wife and me. Thanks, Adam, we really appreciated it. I wholeheartedly recommend this pub.

We came for Sunday lunch with our toddler, and it turned out to be one of our favorite meals of the Cotswolds trip. There were families with children of different ages, board games, and crayons on the tables, which made the place feel welcoming straight away. My daughter was happy with her mac and cheese, my husband loved his sirloin, and the mackerel pâté was excellent. I had the catch of the day, cooked perfectly, and really appreciated having vegetarian gravy so I could enjoy a Yorkshire pudding too. The food came quickly enough for us to head back for naptime. I can't comment on the rooms, but we'd happily recommend lunch here.
